Why Training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gets You In Shape Faster Than Almost Any Other Workout

Anyone that has done BJJ knows that it is one of the best workouts you can do. Here’s why:

1. You’re not supposed to use strength, but people do. BJJ makes you stronger.

2. It makes you more flexible.

3. It is one of the best cardio workouts you can ever do. The reason why- your partner is pushing the pace! You can’t coast like you can on a stairmaster or exercise bike. If you’re lifting weights, you don’t have to push yourself to do 3 more reps. But in Jiu-Jitsu, if you don’t keep up, your partner could get an advantage over you.

4. This is probably the top reason that BJJ is one of the top workouts- it is addictive. I have had students quit their jobs to be able to train Jiu-Jitsu more. People want to train, and when they are training, they are not looking at the clock to see when they are finished.
